AV & Tech Support
Vulcan Research Services offers comprehensive AV and technology support for both in-person and online mock trials and focus groups. Whether your project is held in a hotel conference room, law office, rented meeting space, or dedicated research facility, our team manages all aspects of setup, operation, and teardown—delivering a seamless experience from start to finish.
For in-person events, we bring all necessary equipment, requiring only minimal technical support from the facility. Our equipment usually arrives in 5 shipping cases, and our trained team handles full setup and teardown. We also supply juror tablets / laptops for data collection, power strips, extension cords, speakers, projectors, and projector screens as needed.
In-Person Recording & Streaming
We record and stream both the main trial/presentation room and all breakout or deliberation rooms. In the main room, we set up multiple cameras to capture both the presenter and jurors. Lapel microphones are used to capture the presenters audio, and area microphones are used to capture group audio for voir dire or juror introductions. For deliberation rooms, we use 360° Owl Cameras to provide full audio and video coverage of all jurors.
Exhibit Display & Presentation Support
Our team can act as the hotseat operator—managing slides, exhibits, and demonstratives—or presenters can control their own materials. We also accommodate client-provided hotseat technicians. Exhibits are streamed alongside the presenter using a picture-in-picture format, giving remote viewers a clear and synchronized view of both. In addition to in-session support, we can also assist with video editing, including depositions, demonstratives, camera footage, and more.
Client Viewing Experience
Clients in the observation room can view multiple deliberation panels simultaneously using our Vulcan software. We provide wireless headphone transmitters that allow observers to switch between audio channels with the press of a button, making it easy to follow whichever room is most relevant in the moment.
Facility Coordination
When needed, we assist in identifying and coordinating with venues that best fit your project’s needs. Our extensive inventory of equipment and adaptable setup allow us to operate effectively in a wide range of spaces—making high-quality research possible almost anywhere.
Online Projects
For remote mock trials and focus groups, we use Zoom in combination with our Vulcan software to manage, record, and stream the event. Our team hosts the sessions, checks in jurors, conducts tech checks, and monitors technical needs throughout the day. We also handle Zoom transitions, moving jurors between the main presentation and their assigned deliberation breakout rooms.
Our team is highly experienced with Zoom and leverages its advanced features to ensure a smooth, secure, and professional experience for clients and participants alike.
